Prosecution to take emergency situation in Kuban under control

The regional prosecutor is inspecting the recent flood in the
Krasnodar Territory, which left 16 people dead. A temporary
prosecution point was established to help citizens, RIA Novosti
reports.

The prosecutor of the Krasnodar Territory, Leonid Korzhinyok, said
special attention will be paid to the spending of federal and regional
budget for help to the population.

Korzhinyok visited the most gravely flood-stricken Tuapsin region
where he signed an act on the establishment of a temporary office to
protect human rights and to provide information about the process of
cleaning up the damage.

A criminal case was initiated on Monday in Krasnodar. The head of
civil defense and emergency situations department of the
administration of Tuapsin region is suspected of the misuse of funds.
He may be sentenced to up to 7 years in prison.
