‘‘Candle of Memory’’ is international memorial action

The round table at TASS was attended by the center's director, "Candle of Memory" action coordinator Pavel Illarionov, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church and Society Relations Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin, Head of the regional public organization of the patriotic "Immortal Regiment - Moscow" Nikolay Zemtsov, and member of the Public Chamber Moscow region and member of the motorcycle club "Night Wolves" Alexey Weitz. 

At night of June 21-22, participants of the action in Russian cities, CIS and Baltic states will light candles in their windows of houses and apartments for each of the 27 million people, who died in the war. In Moscow this action is traditionally to take place on Poklonnaya Gora. In 2015, the VII International memorial action in the memory of the died soldiers during the Great Patriotic War is to take place in the context of the major events, timed towards the anniversary of the Victory, and dedicated to the unity of the peoples of the USSR in the struggle against the bearers of ideas of Nazism and racial superiority.
