The chairman of the Federation Council’s Foreign Affairs committee, Konstantin Kosachev, told Vestnik Kavkaza that "currently the situation in Armenia is apparently developing as a conflict of people who are dissatisfied with quite specific subjects related to their economic well-being."

At the same time, he believes that "almost every color revolution began with such events, and then grew into a political event. I think Armenia is also not immune to such a scenario."

Konstantin Kosachev recalled the events in Ukraine in this connection, "we know how an artificial selection broke and continues to tear apart Ukraine. This can happen to any country, it is unseemly, unfair play, which affects states, nations and ordinary people."

He stressed the need to continue monitoring developments in Armenia, "it is too early to reach any conclusions."
