Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan said during a meeting with Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov in Yerevan that the sitting strike on Baghramyan Avenue in Yerevan demonstrates the absurdity of the assumptions of some experts, who say that these demonstrations have an anti-Russian attitude.

"Armenia had to take such a step [an increase of tariffs for electricity], which is not welcomed by the people, taking into account the inflation rate of the Armenian dram and the increase in the prime cost of energy produced," Trend cited him as saying.

According to him, the intergovernmental commission should pay particular attention to the activities of Russian companies in Armenia.
