Russian football players to take revenge in the final game at European Games

The Russian national beach soccer team is to play in the final game at the European Games in Baku. The Russian athletes will play against the Italian team. The Russian players have already been defeated by the Italians in the group stage. In an interview for Vestnik Kavkaza the Russian players shared their impressions of their semi-final match and their expectations of the final game. 

The defender Arthur Paporotny noted that ‘‘we are in high spirits,  despite the fact that it was a difficult game. We have the energy to win."

"I think that the coach helped us. We will make some corrections. And tomorrow we will take revenge. Well, the final is the final. The opponent is always strong. But it is necessary to come out, play and win," the athlete said.

"Speaking of the match against Portugal in the semi-finals, I would note that the teams were cautious, as they were afraid to make a mistake. Everyone wanted to play in the final. Everyone was waiting for their opponents’ mistakes."

In the last second of the match a Portuguese player had a good chance, so ‘‘if score had been 1:1 we would have lost the game. But thanks to the goalkeeper for saving us," Paporotny said.
