Moscow pays last respects to Yevgeny Primakov

A public ceremony of paying last respects to former Russian Prime Minister, ex-Foreign Minister Yevgeny Primakov, who died at the age of 85 on June 26, is taking place in the Hall of Columns in the center of Moscow.

A Defense Ministry delegation, including the Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov, has arrived to pay last respects. At the funeral ceremony public figures, parliamentarians, including the chairman of the Federation Council’s Foreign Affairs committee, Konstantin Kosachev, who worked with Primakov for many years, are also in the hall.

The funeral of Evgeny Primakov will be at Novodevichy Cemetery at 14.00 and will be broadcast live. The funeral at the Novodevichy convent will be conducted the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, RIA Novosti reported.
