Turkey offers Kazakhstan chance to export wheat through Turkish ports
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaTurkey has proposed to Kazakhstan the establishment of new routes for wheat export through Turkish ports, the Turkish foreign minister said, reports KazTAG.
"Kazakhstan is the biggest producer of wheat,” he said.
“Turkey is one of the biggest wheat importers. And we would like to propose that the Kazakh authorities establish the delivery of Kazakh wheat to other markets through the Turkish ports."
The minister gave no other details.
According to information on Kazakhzerno.kz, Turkey is the second biggest producer and exporter of flour. In 2009, the country exported 1 million tons of flour. Kazakhstan, which exported 1.7 million tons of flour, was in first place.
