Head of General Staff of Turkey to resign

A new head of the General Staff of Turkey will be appointed in August. It is associated with the retirement of the current head of the General Staff, Necdet Ozel.

63-year-old Land Forces Commander, General Hulusi Akar, may be appointed new head of the General Staff of Turkey, Turkish Kanal7 TV channel reports.

Earlier it was reported that Necdet Ozel will resign on August 30, Trend reports. The reason for his resignation is health problems.

The Turkish General Staff has not denied or confirmed this information.
