Russia and Azerbaijan strengthen their strategic partnership

A round-table meeting on interregional co-operation between Russia and Azerbaijan on 15th April in Baku, called “Russia and Azerbaijan: through expanding interregional co-operation to strengthening strategic partnership”, 1news.az reports, citing a message from Russia’s State Duma Committee on CIS issues and relations with compatriots.


On the meeting they are planning to discuss the role of state authority organs that provide necessary conditions for effective development of interregional relations of Russia and Azerbaijan. Also issues of interregional co-operation of economic subjects of the countries, and perspectives of developing interregional co-operation of Russia and Azerbaijan as a factor of strengthening strategic partnership of the two countries.


Representatives of Russian president’s administration, deputies, senators, representatives from Russia’s Foreign Ministry, specialized ministries, large companies will participate in the meeting from the Russian side.


Due to the active economic work of Russia’s subjects commodity circulation between the countries is has been rising for several years. Although, it’s structure is changing, more rough materials are sold, first of all due to Azerbaijan’s increase in export of industrial products, supplies of cars, construction engineering, oil equipment, Alexey Ostrovsky, head of State Duma committee, notified. We will make a declaration depending on the round-table results, Ostrovsky reports.
