Has Greece turned to Russia?
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Russian authorities may start direct supplies of energy to Greece to contribute to the improvement of the economic situation in the country. This statement was made by Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak.
"The Russian Federation intends to support the recovery of the Greek economy through increased cooperation in the energy sector. In this context, we are studying the possibility of organizing direct deliveries of raw energy materials to the Greek state in the very near future," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
"Now we are working on it and hope to reach an agreement within a few weeks," Novak noted.
As for the EU, the Ministers of Finance of the eurozone (Eurogroup) today concluded that there are no reasons for the opening of negotiations on a third package of aid to Greece. Thus, Brussels does not intend to provide a discount on the debt of Greece.
