The National Bank of Kazakhstan has expanded corridor fluctuations in the exchange rate of the tenge, the chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Kairat Kelimbetov, said at a press conference.

"The new corridor will be 170-198 tenge to the dollar," he said.

According to Kelimbetov, this corridor allows the financial regulator to conduct a more flexible and smooth exchange rate policy.

The new currency band will be adopted before the end of the day.
