Russian admirals praised in Stavropol Territory

The event was held on the territory of the spiritual and educational center 'Admiral'. Governor Vladimir Vladimirov also attended the ceremony.
He laid flowers at the monument and delivered his speech, in which he noted the importance of opening sites in perpetuation of the historical memory of the people.

Then a solemn liturgy was held and the consecration of the mosaic icon of Fyodor Ushakov, the Russian admiral, who was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church as a saint. The event was held by Stavropol and Nevinnomyssky Metropolitan Kirill.
The monument to Fyodor Ushakov is a center of the sculptural colonnade with busts of Russian admirals in different periods of time, including the Crimean War in 1853-1856, the commander of a squadron of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Pavel Nakhimov. His descendant Alexander Nakhimov also attended the opening ceremony and expressed his congratulations to Stavropol.
