Head coach of Russia, President of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (VFHG) Irina Viner-Usmanova, has noted that the Silver Order of the International Olympic Committee is an award for the entire artistic gymnastics.
"I believe that the whole world gymnastics was awarded. We try not only to raise the level of Russian rhythmic gymnastics. We also need competitors in order to win and continue to develop. That is why a lot of representatives of other countries train in Russia, have trained," Tass cites her.
"I never expected that I would be awarded such an important Order by the Russian Olympic Committee. It is very important that Olympic champion Thomas Bach arrived here. Sport is the only war that has a peaceful end."
She also expressed the hope that gymnastics will remain in the Olympic program. "We will do our best in order that this kind of sport remains in the Olympic program. I think we will never be thrown to the sidelines and rhythmic gymnastics will remain in the Olympic Family,’’ said the President of the VFHG.
