Crimean Prosecutor Natalya Poklonskaya may become a candidate from the United Russia party at the elections to the lower house of Russia’s parliament in 2016, Izvestia daily reports.

The United Russia leadership told Izvestia that the party is "working in a non-stop regime both on regional and federal elections."

"The party is relying on strong candidates, authoritative personalities. The work on the upcoming elections to the State Duma is already under way. Of course, we are considering such people who will be of benefit both to the party and Russia, as, for example, Natalya Poklonskaya. A dialogue on the formation of the list in Crimea is being conducted," a source said.
