The head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev, commented on remarks made by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan during his joint press conference with President of the European Council Donald Tusk.
Hikmet Hajiyev reminded that Armenia is an occupant and aggressor, and Azerbaijan is the state which has undergone occupation, so undoubtedly, there should be differences between them.
"The decision on 'Chiragov and Others versus Armenia' adopted by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) is a basic document that determines Armenia’s legal responsibility as an occupant state within the context of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict," Trend cited Hajiyev as saying.
According to Hajiyev, a legal assessment without using double standards should be given of Armenia’s aggression in accordance with the UN Charter. And an end should be put to the syndrome of Armenia’s impunity.
