Job cuts start in state structures of Georgia

Georgia under a “belt-tightening” policy. The number of employees in
the public sector will be reduced by 5 percent, saving the budget $58
million. However, the draft state budget for 2011 increases state
employees' total salaries to $1.176 billion, Georgia Online reports.
In comparison, the salary fund of state employees amounted to only
$554 million in 2009.
