The Turkey-Iran gas pipeline has been blown up in Turkey's eastern Agri province, the explosion caused panic among local people, the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Taner Yildiz, said.

The explosion could be revenge for the destruction of the military camp of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Hakurk and the bombing of another militant camp in Metina, Trend reports.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu previously said that the Kurdistan Regional Government in northern Iraq supports Turkey’s operations against the PKK.
