International Black Sea Day celebrated on October 31
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaOn 31 October 1996 the environment ministers from the six riparian countries – Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, the Russian Federation, Turkey and Ukraine – signed the Strategic Action Plan for the Rehabilitation and Protection of the Black Sea.
The Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve Authority (ARBDD), in partnership with the Municipality of Tulcea through the Information and Education Center on Waste Management (CIEMD), will mark this event next week, with students and regional teaching schools in the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve of St. George, Sulina and Crisan. Events to mark the anniversary will include a presentation about the environmental significance and characteristics of the Black Sea, a short presentation on projects related to the Black Sea ARBDD and a workshop with interactive activities.
International Black Sea Day activities will be held through 31 October – 2 November 2010 in Trabzon. An International Black Sea Day Gala Night will take place on the Black Sea Technical University campus.
