First school textbooks of local history issued in Dagestan

The first textbooks of local history have been issued to Dagestani schools. Two beautifully designed textbooks for the 7th and 8th grades of educational institutions were printed by the publishing house BHV-Petersburg.

The author of the textbooks is Islam Magomedov, Candidate of Economic Sciences, member of the Writers' Union of Russia, as well as valid state adviser of the Republic of Dagestan of the first class, author of more than 30 scientific-methodical and educational works, including five monographs, four textbooks and manuals for educational institutions, RIA Dagestan reports.

The manual introduces students to the history of the region, its historical monuments, places of each village and district, economy, economic activities and the cultural life of each village. Significant space in the textbooks is given to the natural attractions and protected monuments of Dagestan.
