A new election model using biometric data will be used in Kyrgyzstan during the upcoming elections on October 4, the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums of Kyrgyzstan said.

"All polling stations, including those which are outside the country, will have special equipment," the CEC said, adding that this was done in order to avoid falsification.

The state budget will allocate 250 million soms (about $4 million) for the preparation and holding of parliamentary elections and $6 million was allocated by Japan.

People with no biometric registration will not be able to vote in the upcoming elections.
