Paratrooper dies in the southwestern Chechnya

An improvised explosive device exploded in the mountains of the Achkhoi-Martan district of Chechnya, causing the death of a paratrooper, another two soldiers were wounded.

Yesterday morning fighters of one of the air assault brigades of the Ministry of Defence were carrying out reconnaissance in a mountainous wooded area near the village of Yandi. During the operation an IED based on an 82-mm mine exploded, Interfax reports referring to a law enforcement source.

The reconnaissance squad leader died, two contract soldiers were wounded.
