Gendarmerie in eastern Turkey attacked

The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has attacked a gendarmerie base in the Tunceli Province of Turkey. No casualties were reported in the attack.

The attackers used a new tactic of short skirmish and waste. After 10 minutes of fighting, the gunmen left the scene. 

The leaders of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) yesterday asked the Turkish authorities to resume peace negotiations on the Kurdish issue. The party expressed the need for "the quick resumption of peace negotiations with the participation of (PKK leader) Abdullah Ocalan," TASS reports.
