Iran plans to transit Qatar gas to Europe

Iran can transit Qatar’s gas to Turkey to be pumped to Europe, the president of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, Mohsen Jalalpour, said.

“In case Iran is able to reach a deal with Qatar and Turkey over this, there will be a significant profit for Iran and Turkey [for transiting the gas],” PressTV cited Jalalpour as saying. 

Jalalpour added that there are still "certain political obstacles" over doing this, but he hopes that they would be resolved.   

Officials from Nabucco and EGL have already discussed the prospects of transiting Iranian gas to Europe. Azerbaijan also proposed transiting Iran’s gas to Europe through the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP).
