Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Ankara does not intend to carry out a ground operation against the Islamic State militants in Syria.

"Right now, no ground operation is envisaged, but in the future whatever is needed to fight IS, including ground operations, should be done, this is my personal opinion," Reuters cited him as saying.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu told the BBC that he did not rule out the possibility of sending Turkish troops to the territory of Syria.
