Vimpelcom won’t be defendant in US on corruption case in Uzbekistan

Holdink Vimpelcom has made a statement that he isn’t a defendant in the case related to the arrest of assets as part of a corruption scandal in the sphere of telecommunications in Uzbekistan.

Vimpelcom representative Artem Minaev said that the company will continue to cooperate with the authorities and law enforcement bodies of Uzbekistan. 

Earlier, the US demanded that five European countries block assets amounting to 1 billion rubles due to the investigation of the case, including those of Vimpelcom, MTS and Scandinavian TeliaSonera.
