Russia's Stavropol Territory hopes to receive one billion rubles to
establish a nanocenter, RIA Novosti reports, citing Governor Valery
Gayevsky.

Speaking at the international nanotechnology forum in Moscow
RUSNANOTECH 2010, Gayevsky said that they are working on building the
nanocenter, which will become a platform for realizing the territory's
scientific potential and to manage commercialization of
nanotechnologies.

The governor said that they requested the sum from Rosnano. They have
over 20 nanotechnology projects.

Gayevsky said that they plan to build a factory in Nevinnomyssk to
process tyres and produce road covering. The new technologies have
already helped repair a road from Stavropol Territory leading to
Rostov-on-Don. The road can function for 10-15 years without needing
repairing.

Gayevsky also said that of the 6 billion rubles from the Russian
Investment Fund to support investment projects in the Caucasus in
2011, 3 billion rubles of the sum will be issued to Stavropol
Territory..
