Temir Sariev: officials who are running for parliament should resign
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaPrime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariev believes that heads of government agencies, who are running for parliament, should retire from their posts on their own, and not suspend their authority during elections, the press service of the government reported.
Kyrgyz law has a norm that registered candidates occupying state political, administrative and municipal offices, from the date of registration and up to determination of the results of elections, can suspend their authority for a time, while keeping their average wage.
"According to the head of the government, to ensure uninterrupted operation of one or another department, as well as economy of budgetary funds, parliamentary candidates, who are holding senior positions in government agencies, it is advisable for them to leave their posts," the press service notes.
