More than 3400 residents of Adygeisk complained to the Public Chamber of Russia about local imam Yusuf Sheudzhen who, according to them, has agitated for the terrorist organization Islamic State, Izvestia writes.

He is said to have urged believers to leave Russia for Syria and Iraq, where IS is operating, because only there can "true Islam" be professed. "As a result, seven families with young children went to the militants," RIA Novosti quotes the newspaper.

As for the Public Chamber, it has already responded to the situation: the head of its Commission for the development of public diplomacy and the support of compatriots abroad, Elena Sutormina, appealed to FSB director Alexander Bortnikov with a request "to take the case of the Imam under special control."
