Brent and WTI drop 30% since January
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaOil of reference marks is still falling in price this morning at the auction: Brent crude reached its minimum level for the last six years of 46 dollars per barrel, and in total, since January of 2015, both brands have dropped in price by more than 30%.
October futures for Brent crude on London's ICE Futures Exchange as of 8:41 MSK dropped 0.61 dollars (1.31%) to 46.01 dollars per barrel. Yesterday, during the closing of the market, the price of futures fell 0.54 dollars (1.15%) to 46.62 dollars per barrel.
The futures price for WTI oil for October in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) dropped 0.52 dollars (1.26%) to 40.80 dollars per barrel. As a result of the last session, the contract rose in price 0.34 dollars (0.83%) to 41.14 dollars per barrel.
WTI, for the first time since 1986, has ended an eighth consecutive week with a decline, Interfax reports.
