Tehran to obtain S-300 this year, Iranian Ministry of Defense reports
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaIn the best scenario, Iran could acquire the Russian S-300 missile defense system later this year, the Iranian Defense Minister, Hossein Dehkan, said.
Speaking of the old agreement on supply of the complex, the Minister noted that Moscow has cancelled it, Tehran has returned the money, and therefore the document has stopped its action ‘in practical terms’.
He added that the transaction does not require the preparation of a new agreement in principle, since it is enough to supplement the existing ones. "Since there were changes made to some parts of the S-300 systems, including the radar section, it increases their cost, and Iran must pay the additional cost," RIA Novosti quotes Dehkan.
