Egypt and EAEU may open a free trade zone

A Free Trade Zone may appear between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Egypt. Calculations in this case will be carried out in national currencies, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated, commenting on the results of a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

"Among the concrete steps to further stimulate the economy is the possible creation of a free trade zone, in fact, between Egypt and the EAEU, and the use of national currencies in mutual calculations, support of investment cooperation and investment flows," RIA Novosti quotes the head of state as saying.

Vladimir Putin stressed that these steps should help to direct commodity turnover to stable growth.
