Venezuela to seek reduction of oil production in Russia with help of OPEC

Venezuela has proposed convening an extraordinary session of OPEC with the participation of Russia in order to convince the latter to reduce oil production in order to stabilize prices on the world market, The Wall Street Journal cites sources.

In particular, the Latin American republic has addressed Qatar on this issue.

"Venezuela is concerned that if we do not take steps, oil prices will continue to drop," the publication quotes one of the delegates of OPEC, who noted that the the organization is aware that its influence on the situation on the market is limited, and that is why they need to start cooperation with producers who are not members of this association, and that includes Russia.
