Saakashvili: Odessa police force is a crime syndicate, they should be disbanded

Chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili said he intends to disband the local police force, which, in his opinion, is a criminal syndicate.

In addition, the Odessa Governor spoke about establishing, together with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, a special division within the agency, which according to Saakashvili will deal with "corruption within the administration and the police."

On August 25 in Odessa, a new patrol police force was introduced. Attending the oath-taking ceremony, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expressed his confidence that "the Odessan and Ukrainian police will demonstrate the best quality," TASS reminds.
