Russian pharmacists win back domestic market

Russian pharmacists are actively working on covering the domestic market of medicines, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, said yesterday.

"This year, the share of Russian producers on the pharmaceutical market grew by almost 28%," Tass quotes Manturov as saying.

According to the forecasts of the Ministry, Russian-made medicines should occupy half of the domestic market until 2020, and two-thirds of essential drugs are produced already in Russia.

‘’By presidential decree, 67% of drugs from the expanded list of vital and essential drugs (VED) should be made in Russia. In the first half year we have produced 69.5% already,’’ the Minister said.
