Lavrov: in fighting terrorism we need to reject selfish calculations
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaRussian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told students and lecturers of the International State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) that the disunity of countries may have a bad result.
According to him, selfish calculations need to be rejected. He noted that ever more politicians are recognizing that terrorism is growing bigger as a threat.
He noted that the destruction of cultural and historical monuments in Iraq and recently in Syria’s Palmyra is undermining the basis of universal human culture. In this situation, he said, the most pressing issue is to protect cultural objects on the basis of the corresponding UN charter.
"We need to cooperate to fight this evil," TASS cited the top Russian diplomat as saying.
