Garibashvili: We want to repopulate the highlands

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, has met with the residents of the Utsera mountain village in the Onsky municipality of the Racha region.

In a conversation with them, the Prime Minister promised to assist in resolving some of the problems faced by the villagers, in particular in strengthening the river bed of the Rioni, extending the gas network to homes and farmland legalization.

In addition, on this occasion he announced his intention to secure the return of people to their homes who had left the mountainous areas to go to the cities. "Our desire is to return the population to the mountains, to their homes," Interfax quoted the Prime Minister as saying.
