Russia offers Iran an agreement on cultural cooperation
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaRussia has sent a draft agreement on cooperation in the sphere of culture to Iran, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of the Republic Ali Jannati, who is on a visit to Moscow, stated.
"Today I talked with the ambassador [of Iran to the Russian Federation Mehdi Sanai – VK], and he told me that the Russian side has provided us with a draft agreement on cultural cooperation, and when I return I will surely look at this project, give my opinion on this matter, so that after the approval and signing both parties could operate more freely in the cultural field in their respective countries," RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
The Minister recalled that there is an agreement of 1966 between the two countries, according to which Russia could open a cultural center in Tehran. "Our cultural representative office works in Moscow on the basis of this agreement," Ali Jannati noted at a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, Ilyas Umakhanov.
