Paintings of Russian avant-garde artists stolen from Karakalpakstan State Museum of Art

Fake paintings were found in public museums in Uzbekistan, the originals of which had been stolen and sold abroad. In particular, 178 counterfeits were discovered in the State Museum of Arts in Uzbekistan. Many pictures by Victor Ufimtsev presented at the gallery in Angren in the Tashkent region turned out to be counterfeits, Interfax reports.
