Mehriban Aliyeva opens 'Azerbaijani Town' in Paris

A ceremony to open the 'Azerbaijani Town' was held in the center of the French capital in the area of Palais-Royal, it was attended by the First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva.

While presenting her to the audience, the host of the event spoke about this republic of the South Caucasus and recalled the first European Games, which were held in Baku in June, after which the word passed to Mehriban Aliyeva.

"I sincerely welcome you to the opening of 'Azerbaijani Town' in one of the centers of beautiful Paris - on Place Palais-Royal, located near the world-famous Louvre Museum, and I am very happy to see each of you. Until September 9, this square will become a place that reflects the culture, history, art, music, cuisine, traditions, past and present of Azerbaijan. And the inhabitants of Paris, and numerous guests of your capital, and tourists can get full information about Azerbaijan here," Trend quotes her as saying.

"Dear friends, I hope that here, in this small space, you will feel the atmosphere of Azerbaijan. On this occasion, I invite each of you to visit Azerbaijan. Once again I express my deep gratitude to all of those who helped us in the creation of this town, I wish you an enjoyable evening. Thank you very much," she summed up.

In his turn, the mayor of the 1st Arrondissement of Paris, Jean Francois Legare, expressed confidence that this event will further enhance French interest in Azerbaijan. He also praised the work of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which plays an important role in enhancing cultural exchanges between the two countries.

The chairman of the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan in France, Jean Francois Mansel, congratulated Mehriban Aliyeva on the fact that the Fund headed by her manages to organize events at such a high level. Reminding the audience about the first European Games, he said that their success showed the world the power of Azerbaijan. In his opinion, the European Games became a great achievement of President Ilham Aliyev and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the first European Games Mehriban Aliyeva.
