Poroshenko: NATO isn’t ready to invite Ukraine into the alliance

Today President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said that NATO isn’t ready to support Ukraine's membership, noting that now the alliance is the most effective safety mechanism in the world after the UN Security Council. 

According to the head of the Ukrainian state, meeting the criteria for NATO membership means meeting the criteria of membership in the European Union. "They are 98% the same. NATO is the most effective security mechanism in the world after the UN Security Council. And will the NATO membership vote in order to invite Ukraine? No. We fully understand this point of view,’’ RIA Novosti cites him.
