The leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has congratulated the people of the republic on one of the major holidays – the Day of Civil Concord and Unity, which was introduced on September 4th 2002 by the first president of the Chechen Republic, Akhmad Kadyrov.

"It was an exceptionally difficult time, when people were killed every day, international terrorists and Wahhabis rampaged, the country was in ruins. Akhmad believed that very soon other times will come, Chechnya would rise to its feet, will turn into a flourishing land, there would be peace, cities and villages would be reborn. He was convinced that in order to do this, unity and concord are needed, that it is important to unitea fractured and fragmented society. Akhmad did what no one has ever managed to do – in the shortest time he laid down a solid foundation for building a stable and prosperous Chechnya," Kadyrov recalled on his VKontakte page.

"I heartily congratulate the residents of the Chechen Republic and our compatriots all over the world on the holiday! I wish you happiness and good luck!" the head of Chechnya concluded.
