Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has proposed to the government of
Moscow and the Moscow Region that they demolish all illegal
constructions near highways to prevent traffic jams, the Kremlin's
press-service said on Monday, RIA Novosti reports.

The buildings are proposed to be demolished by May 1, 2011.
At a council of the president on October 28 Moscow Mayor Sergey
Sobyanin said that there are approximately 600 illegal buildings in
Moscow near roads, including stalls and pavilions.

Such buildings do not allow a broadening of roads. The mayor has
promised to develop a program to take them down.

Moreover, there are tens of trading centers built near the Moscow Ring
Road. The Ministry of Transport plans to inspect the legality of
construction of ramps until November 20.
