Iran releases new hepatitis C drug

A new hepatitis C drug made in Iran will reach the country’s market next week, Deputy Minister of Health in Research and Technology, Reza Malekzadeh, said.

Sofosbuvir will be offered for one tenth of the price of similar imported drugs.

There are two other hepatitis C drugs undergoing their trial stages, Malekzadeh added. According to him, in near future these drugs could fully answer the domestic need, Trend reports.
