The Bulgarian authorities will issue permission for Russian military transport planes to use its airspace if Russia agrees to its flights being checked at a Bulgarian airport, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov said.

"Each EU member state is obliged to comply with these decisions, and when there is information which gives us grounds to believe that the declared cargo was not the real one, that is the reason to refuse permission,” RIA Novosti cited Mitov as saying.

Bulgaria said that it had refused to issue permits for flights by Russian military transport aircraft in the September 1-24 period.
