UK Foreign Office to give Assad months of power during any transitional period

British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond stated that London would not object to Bashar Assad remaining in power during any transitional period. However, in his words, he assumes that the transfer of power would last a few months.

"If we will coordinate the process (transfer of authority), including the Russians and the Iranians, which takes months, and if in these months a transfer of power will occur, we, of course, will discuss it," TASS quotes Hammond as saying.
