Peskov says Russia's task is to support Syria in fight against IS

Russia believes that the Syrian army is the only force that can oppose Islamic State, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"There are simply no other organized capable forces there," Peskov said.

"Therefore, Russia sees a task of supporting Syria," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.
