Armenia has initiated the creation of a free trade zone between the EEU and Iran, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister, Shavarsh Kocharyan, said.

"Three months ago we sent an official letter to the Eurasian Economic Commission suggesting to start a procedure of forming a more preferential trade regime between the Eurasian Economic Union and Iran. It is proposed to create a special working group with the participation of representatives of the EEC and the EEU," Kocharian noted.

Shavarsh Kocharyan reminded that Iran has expressed an interest in creating a free trade zone for a long time. In the case of signing the agreement, Armenia will be able to benefit from its partnership with the EEU, Arka reports.
