Russia and EU agree on winter gas supplies to Ukraine

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak and Vice-President of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič have reached an agreement on gas supplies to Ukraine during the winter period.

According to the Head of the Ministry of Energy, the negotiations, the key issue of which is a reliable passing of winter, were held in a businesslike and constructive format.

In his turn, the CEO of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, who also took part in the talks, said that Brussels can provide 500 million dollars to Kiev. "It will give Ukraine the opportunity to get an additional 2 billion cubic meters of gas," Interfax quoted him as saying.
