The city zoo was reopened in Tbilisi today, after suffering damage during the flood that hit the capital of Georgia in June.

According to its director, Zurab Gurielidze, 277 zoo animals were killed three months ago. "These were some of the most interesting animals in the zoo, which attracted the attention of the visitors. Among them there were white lions, primates who unfortunately died, and many other species. But, despite this, we still have interesting animals you can see again. There is a white rhino, a leopard and so on," Interfax quotes him as saying.

Now it is planned to complete the collection with new zoo inhabitants, bringing 150 new animals by spring.
