Azerbaijan included in top five CIS destinations for Russians
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe tourist service Travel.ru has defined the most popular destinations in the CIS countries among Russian tourists in 2015, based on this year’s data of CIS hotel bookings by Russian tourists.
The list of top ten popular cities among Russian tourists includes Minsk, Kiev, Almaty, Baku, Yerevan, Astana, Vitebsk, Bishkek, Tashkent and Chisinau.
Belarus is at the top of the list (37% of all trips). In second place is Ukraine (22%), third is Kazakhstan (16%), fourth is Azerbaijan (9%). It is followed by Armenia (7%), abc.az reports.
The number of Russians’ online reservations in Azerbaijan rose by a quarter compared to the past year. Russian tourists are travelling to Azerbaijan this year on average for four days and spend $78 a day on a hotel stay, the portal said.
The top five most popular CIS resorts are Issyk-Kul Lake (Kyrgyzstan), Naroch Lake (Belarus), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Nabran (Azerbaijan) and Sevan (Armenia).
